China Moon Landing

China successfully landed a rover on the Moon today.

This is the first Moon landing for China, and the first successful landing for ANY country in more than 35 years.

The Chang'e 3 moon lander and its Yutu rover landed today at 8:11 a.m. EST.

Giant Flightless Birds Throughout History

These are some of the largest flightless birds that have ever walked the face of the Earth. The most massive of these, the Elephant Bird from Madagascar (#3), weighed up to 880 lbs (400 kilograms) and became extinct relatively recently, about 350 years ago!

1980- Da Vinci notebook sells for over 5 million dollars. American oil tycoon Armand Hammer pays $5,126,000 at auction for a notebook containing writings by the legendary artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Seeing Faces

Pareidolia is a phenomenon that allows us to "see" faces and other objects in completely unrelated objects and settings. Carl Sagan theorized that this provided an evolutionary advantage, as it allows humans to better recognize each other, even under poor visual circumstances.

The important thing to remember is that even though these images may seem like faces, they aren't. It's all just a really fun figment of your imagination.
